Al Andalus - Andalucia Itinerary

The Al-Andalus is a luxury palace on wheels, a unique place from which to enjoy the Spanish landscape.  Its four salons, real railway jewels built between 1928 and 1930, are the perfect place to enjoy a la carte breakfast and selected dinners and three course meals designed by our renowned chef, Ramón Celorio.
Bar service allows the traveller to enjoy at any time of an espresso, a sherry or a Tom Collins, relax in the elegant lounges, while the landscape is running past the large windows, or in the privacy of your comfortable room. At the end of the day it is time to enjoy the parties, music, cultural and gastronomic activities or live performances that are offered every day on board.

All suites are air-conditioned with independent adjustment. During the day the room is a comfortable living room with a sofa, while at night the beds are folded out to become an elegant bedroom.

Junior Suite
A cozy room with a private bathroom which preserves the size and the charm of the original compartments.
• Two single beds which can be turned into armchairs during the day.
• Minibar, safe, wardrobe, luggage rack and climate control.
• Functional private bathroom, with maximum use of its space, equipped with a shower, hairdryer and a varied set of welcome and bath items with fragrance and toiletries bag.

Deluxe Suite
Spacious and elegant suite laid with a bedroom and private bathroom which combines the comforts of the 21st century with the original appearance of this historic train.
• Two metre long double bed which turns into a sofa during the day. Possibility of adding an extra small bed for a child.
• Safe, minibar, wardrobe, luggage rack and climate control.
• Comfortable and spacious private bathroom, with a shower, hairdryer and a varied set of welcome and bath items with fragrance and toiletries bag.

Day 1 Sevilla - Jerez de la Frontera

Rendezvous in Seville. While the crew transfers your luggage to the train, visit the capital of Andalusia, boasting the most extensive historic city centre in Spain, home to the Gothic Cathedral, its bell tower named Giralda, the Royal Alcazar and the General Archive of the Indies. After having lunch at the hotel, we will enjoy a sightseeing tour of the city and cross the famous Plaza de España before boarding the Tren Al Andalus. Welcome cocktail onboard, presentation of the crew and accommodation in the suites. Dinner on board as we head to Jerez where we will spend the night.

Day 2 Jerez de la Frontera

We begin today with a delicious buffet and a la carte breakfast. Then we will visit a wine cellar in Jerez. Before lunch we will enjoy the show "How the Andalusian horses dance", famous equestrian ballet with Spanish music. Lunch in Sanlúcar de Barrameda overlooking the salt marshes of Doñana National Park and river Guadalquivir’s mouth. We will then walk around Sanlúcar de Barrameda, from where our luxury coach will take us back to Jerez de la Frontera, one of the most iconic cities of Andalusia. Back on the train and dinner onboard. Overnight in Jerez.

Day 3 Jerez de la Frontera - Cadiz - Ronda

Our bus will take us to Cadiz, one of the oldest cities in Europe. Legend names Hercules as its founder. Tour and free time to explore at leisure. Lunch and journey on our Tren Al Andalus heading to the stunning city of Ronda, where we will have dinner and stay the night.

Day 4 Ronda - Granada

After breakfast, tour of whitewashed Ronda. Its main feature is the immense Tajo or Chasm - a geological cleft in the rock that plunges about 100m deep. Free time before lunch; return to the train which will head towards Granada, a city nestled on the foothills of Sierra Nevada. Dinner and overnight in Granada.

Day 5 Granada

We will spend the morning touring the Alhambra, the most visited monument in Spain, a rich palace complex that housed the Nasrid rulers from the Kingdom of Granada. After lunch we will have free time to visit this beautiful city at our own pace. As the night falls, the whole town is wrapped in a magic spell that you will enjoy over dinner. Night in Granada.

Day 6 Granada - Linares-Baeza - Córdoba

Morning journey on the Al Andalus to station of Linares-Baeza, from where our coach will take us to visit the Renaissance towns of Úbeda and Baeza, both listed as World Heritage Sites by UNESCO. After lunch, we will return to the train to begin our journey to Córdoba. Dinner and overnight in Córdoba.

Day 7 Córdoba - Sevilla

After enjoying our last breakfast onboard we will visit Cordoba, which was once an important provincial capital, but gained its real reputation in culture, being the most important caliphate in the Occident.. Back at the train to enjoy our last lunch while Tren Al Andalus takes us to our final destination, Seville, where the journey ends.   END OF ITINERARY!
