Day 1 Lisbon

Arrival in Lisbon where you are met at the airport and transferred to your hotel. Overnight.

Day 2 Lisbon

Breakfast. An in depth tour begins as you admire the major squares of the city such as Restauradores Square before heading to the Gloria Funicular, for a trip to the lookout of São Pedro de Alcântara with beautiful views of the city, the castle and the river. The tour continues to the emblematic Chaido district, located between the Bairro Alto and Baixa Pombalina. Walking towards the Praça do Comercio to the historic Alfama district for a tasting of regional wines and port, accompanied by a platter of local specialities such as smoked sausage and cheese, served with bread. The tour ends at the main entrance of St George Castle. You can end the tour here and explore at leisure or the guide will accompany you back to your hotel. 3 hrs approx. (Tasting options: 2 regional wine + 1 port OR 2 regional wine + liqueur OR 1 regional wine & 2 port). Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight.

Day 3 Lisbon - Sintra - Cascais - Lisbon

Breakfast. Today enjoy an excursion to the UNESCO World Heritage listed city of Sintra. Sintra's stunning setting on the north slopes of the granite Serra, among wooded ravines and fresh water springs, made it a favourite summer retreat for the kings of Portugal. The tall conical chimneys of the Palacio Nacional de Sintra and the fabulous Palacio da Pena are unmistakable landmarks. On your tour, you might like to visit one or two of these beautiful palaces and enjoy strolling the pretty cobbled streets of the old town, Sintra Vila and perhaps sample queijadas, the local sweet pastry (entrance fees payable locally). Continue to Cascais where you will have free time for lunch and a visit. Return to Lisboa. Overnight.

Day 4 Lisbon - Porto

Breakfast and head to the train station for your train north to Porto. Arrival and head to your hotel for check-in. The present city of Porto occupies the site of the Roman town of Portus, sprawling down the long, steep north bank of the Douro, 6km from the sea. Tonight enjoy a Fado dinner and show. Overnight.

Day 5 Porto

Breakfast. A full day to explore the sights of the city at leisure. The heart of the city is the wide, grass-lined, Av dos Aliados, which runs five blocks inland from the river. All of the sights lie south of this landmark. Overnight.

Day 6 Porto - Douro Valley - Porto

Breakfast. Today you will go by your own direct to the S.Bento train station at Porto city centre, to take the train for a beautiful Douro journey which ends at Pocinho train station. The first hour of the journey is through countryside but after the town of Peso da Régua the railway starts to follow the river. The final section between Pinhão and Pocinho can be considered one of the most beautiful train lines in Europe, with stunning views of the Douro River and the terraced vineyards that climb the sides of the steep hill. The arrival to Pocinho, the end of this lovely railway trip, is scheduled to 12:30Hrs. Here you will have time for a break in this small village and eat something light as at 13h30 you will have a private transfer to Pinhão where you will enjoy of a 2 hour cruise by Rabelo boat Pinhão/Tua/Pinhão with a welcoming taste of a cup of Port or Moscatel wine on board with departure at 15:00h. You will return to Pinhão quay at about 17h00 where your private car and driver is waiting for you to take you back to your hotel at Oporto. Overnight.

Day 7 Porto

Breakfast and farewell the city as you are transferred to the airport for your flight out of Porto. End of services.
