Day 1 Lisboa

Arrival transfer from the airport to your hotel. Free time. Overnight

Day 2 Lisboa

Visit the city this morning with a private driver. Lisboa has no magnificent churches, but a collection of very ornate ones and you will explore this old world capital at a leisurely pace, exploring its most important religious monuments. The architectural highlights of the city are the Mosteiro dos Jeronimos (Monastery) and the Torre de Belem, both Manueline masterpieces in the suburb of Belem. Free afternoon. Overnight.

Day 3 Lisboa - Fátima

Morning transfer to Fatima with a private driver. Free time at leisure to explore the town and Sanctuary. The Neo-Baroque basilica, flanked by statues of saints, has a 65m tower and an esplanade twice the size of St Peter's square in Rome. Thousands of pilgrims travel to Fatima every year, especially on the 13th of May and 13th of October. Many travel to the shrine on foot. Inside the basilica, begun in 1928, are the tombs of Jacinta and Francisco. Overnight.

Day 4 Fátima - Batalha - Obidos - Lisboa

Mid morning departure from Fatima with a private driver, stopping on the way to visit the monastery at Batalha.  Batalha is a town aptly named by the Portuguese word for battle for its founding was due to a fight that changed the course of history. A mighty army from Castile had invaded to contest the claims of King Joao I. He vowed that if success came his way he would endow a monastery, for it seemed that only a miracle could save him. The monastery was erected in thanksgiving for his resounding victory over strong Spanish forces at the Battle of Aljubarrota in 1385. Continue on for a sightseeing stop to wander the tiny streets of the white town of Obidos before returning to the capital. Farewell your driver. Free time. Overnight.

Day 5 Lisboa

Transfer to the airport for your flight to your next destination.  End of services.
