Moroccos Imperial Cities in Riads

Day 1 Tangier

Transfer to Algeciras port (Spain) to board the ferry or hydrofoil to Tangier in Morocco.  On arrival in Tangier, you will go through customs to then be met by your driver who takes you to your accommodation. Free time to explore Tangier including the Medina, "Grand and Petit Socco", the Kasbah square overlooking the ocean and the Spanish coast, and the Hercules' grottoes at Cape Spartel. Overnight.

Day 2 Tangier - Volubilis - Meknes - Fes

Breakfast. Departure to Meknes via Volubilis to admire the Roman ruins and Moulay Idriss, the holy town and important place of pilgrimage where the founder of Morocco's first dynasty is buried. Continue on to Meknes. City tour of Meknes with local guide including El Hdim square, Bab El Mansour, the massive gate which is the entrance to the old city and the Jewish quarter, the Royal Granaries and the city ramparts. In the afternoon departure for Fes. Overnight.

Day 3 Fes

Breakfast. Full day sightseeing tour of the medieval city of Fes. Visit the medina, the heart of the old city, with its fascinating souks, tanneries, artisan quarters and remarkable Islamic architecture. Overnight.

Day 4 Fes - Beni Mellal - Marrakesh

Breakfast. Departure via Ifrane, resort town of wealthy Moroccans, Azrou, a relaxed Berber town, and the village of Immouzer du Kandar, and Beni-Mellal, a small town situated 625m above sea-level in the heart of the Middle Atlas mountain range enjoying superb scenery and interesting road stops all the way. Continue your journey to magnificent Marrakesh, the capital of the south. Enjoy a Fantazia Dinner Show and Overnight.

Day 5 Marrakesh

Breakfast. Morning tour with local guide of the souks of Marrakesh, as well as the Saadian Tombs and the Koutoubia Mosque. Your tour ends at the lively Djemaa el Fna. The focal point of Marrakesh is the Djemaa el Fna, a huge square in the old part of town. Late in the evening, rows of food stalls are set up and entertainers take to the streets. Free afternoon. Overnight.

Day 6 Marrakesh - Casablanca - Rabat

Breakfast. This morning you will be met at your hotel and driven to the commercial capital of the country, Casablanca. A brief stop with driver visiting the United Nations Square, the central market, the Habous quarter, the Mechouar of the Royal Palace and the Hassan II Mosque. Departure for Rabat. Panoramic tour with driver including the exterior of the Royal Palace (Mechouar), the mausoleum of Mohammed V (grandfather of the present King) and the Hassan Tower, remnants of the minaret which was destroyed in the 1755 Lisboa Earthquake and which is today the city's landmark. Overnight.

Day 7 Rabat - Tangier

Today is the last stage of the journey. Drive leisurely up the coast via Larache to Tangier where you farewell the Moroccan driver. From here you go through customs and take the ferry back to Algeciras (Spain).
