Granada & the Lecrin Valley

Granada & the Lecrin Valley

Between the city of Granada and the Mediterranean coast is a beautiful, sub-tropical corner of rural Andalucía known as the Lecrín Valley. It’s easy to understand why the Moorish occupiers in the early middle ages christened it “The Valley of Happiness”: the valley offers natural protection against the heat of summer and cold of winter, there are streams and natural springs providing a freshness all year round, and the fields of almonds, vines, olives and citrus fruits make for a landscape that is pleasing to the eye.
